An advocacy workshop organized by Africa HCD+ in partnership with Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency was held on the 23rd and 24th of January 2024 at the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency, Nasarawa State. The objective of the workshop is to strengthen the capacity of main stakeholders on the concept of Human Capital Development (HCD) and essential skills to undertake HCD advocacy programs within the State.
These two days saw, among others, the participation of Nasarawa State Government Officials, Policymakers, key HCD Sector Institutions and Professionals, and Development Partners/Donors. The expected outcome of this workshop was to enable various stakeholders to agree on a concrete HCD-related action plan that will focus on the following key areas:
Establishing an understanding of the Nigerian HCD context;
Engaging stakeholders in discussions on the role of advocacy in human capital development;
Supporting stakeholders to develop strategies for effective collaboration and partnership;
Building capacity of stakeholders on HCD, advocacy, monitoring, and evaluation for driving societal developmental change; and
Creating an action plan to implement policies and initiatives that enhance human capital resources for the State.
