The Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency (NSHCDA), under the leadership of Director General and Focal Person, Habiba Balarabe Suleiman, on Tuesday embarked on a Gender Transformative HCD Zonal Advocacy.
The advocacy for the southern part of the state took place at the palace of Andoma of Doma, where His Royal Highness, the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah alongside other traditional holders and stakeholders were in attendance.
The engagement which is supported by Africa Human Capital Development Plus (HCD+) also had in attendance, the Chairman of Doma L.G.A represented by his Deputy, the wife of the Chairman Mrs Josephine Jonathan, and various women groups.
During the visit, Habiba Balarabe Suleiman emphasized the importance of addressing gender equity and creating an environment where all individuals—regardless of gender, social status, or religion—can thrive, ultimately boosting economic growth.
As part of the visit, Habiba Balarabe Suleiman presented the two (2) HCD documents – ‘ Nasarawa State Gender Transformative Human Capital Development Policy Framework and The Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Strategy Document :Accelerating Growth and Development 2024-2030.
She urged the Andoma of Doma and the people of Doma to adopt and implement the documents, which are designed to among other things, address gender disparities and promote equal opportunities for all.
His Royal Highness Andoma of Doma,Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah commended the Agency’s efforts, reaffirming his commitment to support the cause. He also stressed the importance of skills acquisition and practical knowledge to combat unemployment and promote sustainable development.
In his advice, the Andoma of Doma, urged everyone to contribute to the cause of human capital development, emphasizing that it is a shared responsibility. He also called on parents to prioritize skill-building for their children to secure a brighter future for the next generation.
This visit marks the beginning of an exciting journey towards transforming human capital development as well as addressing gender equity across Nasarawa State.
