Empowering Change in Kokona!
The Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency (NSHCDA), led by Director General/ Focal Person, Habiba Balarabe Suleiman and her team, took the HCD Gender Transformative Zonal Advocacy to Kokona Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
Hosted at the palace of the Abaga Toni of Kokona, Chief Lawrence Sylvester Ayih, the event brought together key stakeholders, including the S.S.A to the Governor on HCD, Else Ayih, Kokona Local Government Deputy chairman, Wife of Kokona Local Government chairman, district heads and passionate women’s groups.
The DG/FP NSHCDA, stressed the power of engaging women as active contributors to society, calling for a unified push toward gender equity and equal opportunities for all.
She presented two HCD documents to drive change: Nasarawa State Gender Transformative Human Capital Development policy framework and Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Strategy Document : Accelerating Growth and development, urging local leaders to adopt them for sustainable community growth.


The Abaga Toni of Kokona, Chief Lawrence Sylvester Ayih, warmly welcomed the Agency and it’s Team reassuring determination to drive the HCD cause while emphasizing the crucial role of education and skills acquisition in creating lasting change.
The Deputy Chairman of Kokona LGA, Hon. Muhammed Adah, who spoke on behalf of the Chairman of Kokona L.G.A, committed to championing HCD and gender equity in the region
Finally, Else Ayih, S.S.A to the Governor, made a powerful call to action—redefine the narrative for women and ensure equal treatment for all children, regardless of gender.

This advocacy, supported by Africa HCD+, seeks to promote gender equity and foster an environment where both men and women have equal opportunities to thrive and contribute to the progress of the State.
