Today marked a major milestone as the “EmpowerHer” Financial Literacy Project (TallafaMata) was officially flagged off at the Emir’s Palace in Lafia!
🎉 This initiative, led by the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency (NSHCDA) and Supported by Africa Human Capital Development Plus(AHCD+), is designed to bridge the financial inclusion gap for 1,200 women in 12 communities across six Local Government Areas, including some of the most underserved and hard-to-reach parts of the state.
The event was graced by His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel A. Akabe, Chairman HCD Council and Deputy Governor Nasarawa State, HRH Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (rtd), Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs and Emir Lafia Bare Beri, Representatives of our Supporting Partner Africa Human Capital Development Plus (HCD+), alongside other distinguished guests.
With a powerful vision to uplift women in low-income and remote areas, the first session held today introduced participants to essential financial literacy topics like budgeting, savings, and debt management.

This project goes beyond training — it empowers! From access to subsidized POS machines to healthcare and digital identity support, “EmpowerHer” is building real economic resilience for women in Nasarawa State. 🌍💪🏾
